Plot
A grieving therapist begins to tell his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making big changes in people’s lives – including his own.. The cast of “Downsizing” share their best defining moments in season 1 and find out who has the best Harrison Ford impression.. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to play the role on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type,” and auditioned for people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least take him to Ford first, thinking he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, generating interest from other notable actors.
The acting was great
Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). This was a solid production and a very unique story.
Is it perfect?
I love how each character embraces their imperfections and shows vulnerability and uses humor for spiritual growth. Downsizing has a ton of heartfelt moments, awkward moments, mildly funny cute moments, and laugh-out-loud moments. I hope they keep making more seasons of this because the character development justifies it. No.
But neither are any of us
I think the overuse of swearing detracts from the overall power potential here. It’s almost as if the writers are forcefully making the show edgy. I personally don’t think it was necessary. That’s why I gave it an 8.
It’s definitely worth watching
