Sample of Farewell Letter to High School Students
The fact that this is a farewell letter does not mean that it needs to be sad – make sure you keep it light and optimistic throughout. Moreover, you can express yourself as much as you want. Keep a semi-formal tone throughout the letter since you need to maintain a respectable barrier.
Sample of Farewell Letter to High School Students

Dear students,
It seems only yesterday that I walked into a brightly lit classroom to encounter a room filled with nervous freshmen; we have all come such a long way together since then, and you are now standing at the brink of graduation, ready to pass out and make your way in the world! It seems unreal.
I would like to start by congratulating you all on your impending graduation – you have all worked hard, and watching you develop and grow into confident and intelligent young adults has been an extremely rewarding experience for me. Your willingness to learn and your innate intelligence and talent made you all a joy to teach, and I hope that you continue to be as successful in all your future endeavours.
When I think of our time together, one incident springs to mind faster than all others – the hard work you all put into organising a fundraiser for the town library after it was destroyed by a fire was a truly commendable effort, and along with your academic achievements, I am proud to have taught such generous individuals with a passion for community service. I hope that you continue to contribute and inspire wherever you go.
While we won’t be seeing each other in the classroom anymore, I will be providing my email address at the bottom of this letter, and encourage you all to keep in touch – I would love to hear about the paths you all choose to take from here.
All the Best,
Percy Shelley
