Sample of a Christmas Letter to Friends and Family
Christmas is an occasion we typically spend with our friends and family, but at times that’s not possible, especially when you’ve moved away for work or any other reason.
If you can’t make it back home for the holidays, you should at least write a Christmas letter to friends and family to let them know you are thinking of them despite being away.
Sample of a Christmas Letter to Friends and Family
Dear guys,
I know you’re probably mad at me for not being able to come home for Christmas this year, but I can’t possibly tell you what I would give to be there among you all. Unfortunately, my work commitments kept me here till the last moment, and I am afraid I won’t be able to make it.
However, I would really love if all of you can send me photos from all the parties and events and make sure you all have a great time even in my absence.
If any of you have gifts for me, do not give them away to anyone else! Keep them with you guys and I will come and personally pick them up at the earliest. I’ve also got gifts for all of you, so if you don’t want to lose them, you better not lose mine.
It’s not as cold here during this time of the year, but I still miss all of you and the parties we had together.
I wish all of you have the most amazing Christmas and the best holidays that follow. I also hope Marty doesn’t eat all the sweets this time and Terry doesn’t tear any more of his shirts with the Christmas tree.
Hope to see you all in the new year very soon!
I am sorry once again, and urge you all to forgive my absence and write back with photos.
Sincerely,
Jim
Tips for Writing a Christmas Letter to Friends and Family
Since you are writing one letter for all of them, you could type it out on your computer and send print outs. Otherwise, you might need to write separate letters for your friends and family members.
Since you are most likely away from home during Christmas if you are writing this letter, it is advised that you express how sorry you are for not being able to be with them at this time.
Keep the letter informal and friendly and if possible send your own photos with it.
