It tells the story of three very different families who are fighting to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they believe will solve all their problems. Denis Leary and Ray Romano both appeared in the Ice Age franchise (2002-present). I was surprised to see the show rated so low, but it made more sense after seeing many reviews explaining how they didn’t get past the first episode. The show is a mystery-filled fun that may not be for everyone. I personally found it too funny and entertaining, with a particular tone to Liz Feldman that I like. I really like the cast and everyone’s performances. I wasn’t sold on Ray Romano at first due to my own biases (a life where I couldn’t separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond), but that faded away pretty quickly. All the different characters have their own subplots that form a tangled web of chaos that is gradually, though not fully, unraveled. By the last episode I was pretty invested in the story, despite the fact that we resolved the major situation very early on. I’m not mad about it, though. I’d love to see more of this show and I really hope they get a second season.
