Alana Higman, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and her family are competing to win the team’s Fan of the Year contest, in a process judged by Director of Fan Engagement Derrick.. Satisfy your craving for happy endings with this year’s lineup of romantic holiday-themed movies to watch from the comfort of your own home.. The movie was filmed on location at the historic Independence Square in Independence, Missouri, which really does look like that all year long. The locations that served as the Higman family store and Norma and Nick’s BBQ restaurant are real-life family-owned businesses, too.
“A Chiefs Love Story” continues that trend
6.7/10 (Recommended) While Hallmark movies continue to be cheesy and sometimes a little unrealistic in their love story capabilities, 2024 has proven to be a wonderful year for Christmas love. I’m not a football fan and I’m a little tired of hearing about the Chiefs, but honestly, this movie was amazing. It’s emotionally moving (I may have cried a few times) and has a cast that works really well together. The chemistry between Hunter King and Tyler Hynes was obvious right away.
She takes her role seriously
As soon as they had those twinkling eyes, I knew this movie was going to be good. Hunter, especially, gives a spectacular performance. She visually gets shaken and upset when she needs to, which sells the point that she’s being motivated. Some Hallmark actresses don’t do that, and for me, she stands out.
Overall, this movie is a must-see for Hallmark movie fans
The story is fantastic and tells it like it’s a real family affair, but given the traditions and superstitions that sports families have, there’s no doubt that this situation plays out in their private lives year after year. This movie is a little different because it focuses on the love of a family rather than two individuals, so it makes it more personal, I think. You don’t even have to like sports or football to understand what’s going on. You just have to believe that love can appear in mysterious ways, and sometimes those mysterious ways are in the form of superstitions and Christmas magic.
