Plot

The Garvey sisters are linked by parents' deaths and a promise to always protect each other.. Sharon Horgan (Eva) is the sister of former Irish rugby player Shane Horgan. Eve Hewson (Becka) is the daughter of Bono from the group U2.

Brian Gleeson (Thomas) is the son of actor Brendan Gleeson and the brother of actor Domhnall Gleeson.. The evil sisters are brilliantly realized in every detail, starting with an incredibly good script. But they are also superb technically, with a great soundtrack and cinematography, combined with really good locations.

So we all end up in conflict – great!

The ensemble is great, clearly having a really good time with their material and providing plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but quite capable of the necessary pathos essential to a show of this nature. The Wicked Sisters is a true black comedy in every sense of the word – but endearing – with a rich vein of Irish humor bubbling to the surface and keeping us invested in the sister’s fortunes. So, even though the girls are not doing anything good, the question always remains – 'but are they really?' – because we identify with their difficulty and the judgments they create.

I’m rooting for the Sisters!

If you are a hypersensitive man, i.e. If you don’t like it when the worst traits of male behavior are exposed and compensated accordingly, … then you really need to watch this show and desensitize yourself, it will serve you well and offer some perspective on how everyone else is given over to selfish male crassness.
