One Day Leave Letter
No matter how attached you are to your work and no matter how important it is to you, there are times when you have to take at least a day off. Either you have to take a day off for some personal privilege or you need to get a few things done; that is when you take a day off from work.
In such cases you must write a one day leave letter to your boss so that the management can understand why you want to take a day off. Simply write about the reason and explain to them how it will be impossible for you to make it to work. Also explain to them all the necessary details which you think will be necessary.
Make sure that your tone is professional and you write everything to the point. If you try to beat about the bush, things will not go in your favour. Simply convince the management and always end the letter by being a little confident about the fact that the other party has already approved your leave.
Sample of One day leave letter
Dear Sir,
I would like to apply for a one day leave on 5th October 2013 because I have to take my father for dialysis.
It is to bring to your kind notice that the procedure for the dialysis is quite time consuming and if I am to accompany my father, I will have to be there for the whole day. I made sure that I am taking the day off on Saturday because the work load will be relatively less. I absolutely understand that we are currently at the peak of the season but I have not taken a single day off since the past four months. You are already aware that my father has not been feeling well for the past two weeks and I need to leave because it is extremely necessary. My father’s blood sugar has gone high and he is experiencing chronic diabetes. There is no one else in my family who can take my father to the hospital and I can’t leave him alone since he will require assistance of a family member.
I hope you can fully understand the reason for my leave. Kindly grant me a leave for one day.
