Konklava 2024 Full Movie Where to Watch
After the pope’s death, his ring (called the fisherman’s ring) is removed and destroyed
Plot
When Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with leading one of the world’s most secret and ancient events, the election of a new pope, he finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the very foundations of the Catholic Church. The actions of Cardinal Lawrence and the other cardinals during the film’s conclave are faithful and precise to the Catholic faith and centuries-old tradition. The Vatican officially declares the throne of the Holy See (the governing body of the Catholic Church) vacant. The papal residence is sealed with a purple ribbon and sealed with a papal wax seal. The College of Cardinals is housed in apartments (the Domus Sanctae Marthae, Saint Martha’s House) where they eat and sleep between votes. Finally, the windows and doors of the Sistine Chapel, where the actual elections take place and the votes are cast, are darkened, closed, and locked to preserve the secrecy of the conclave.
And therefore there is no need for faith
It is announced that Ayendi will be the first African pope. The Roman Catholic Church has had three African popes: Victor The First (189-199 AD), Miltiades (also known as Melchiades, 311-314 AD), and Gelasius The First (492-496 AD). Lawrence: Our faith is a living thing precisely because it goes hand in hand with doubt. If there were only certainty and no doubt, there would be no mystery. Let us pray that God will give us a doubting pope. And give us a pope who sins and asks for forgiveness, and who continues.
this was SERIOUSLY refreshing

I mean it when I say that the first 2/3 of this film is perhaps one of the greatest dramas I’ve ever seen in a movie theater. The writing was so great, it was a perfectly orchestrated web of tension. In an age where it seems like every release that hits theaters is about a $500 million budget, explosive action horror, and audience engagement… Just good dialogue, set design, DP work, and score to transform this film into a charming, suspenseful bliss.
I scratched my head
That’s what I’m talking about for the first 2/3 of the film. I was ready to give this movie 9/10 stars. But I’m afraid the story got lost in the final stretch… such a perfectly woven web of suspense gathers into a mysterious slow burn; there NEEDS to be some satisfying payoff at the end. The ending and the parts surrounding it left me completely unsatisfied. it makes me think.
But the ending of the movie means a lot
But the kind of thinking where your face can contort in confusion as the credits roll. Not satisfaction. Overall, this is a great movie that makes me think, and part of me wants to give it a higher score because it really was SUCH a strong movie (most of the time).
